Ok guys,
As we discussed briefly on Saturday, practice this week will be moved to Sunday evening, April 17th at 7:00pm.
This is to accommodate the fact that Dave is in town again and any time we can get a chance to practice with Dave as part of the team will benefit the team. This move will also accommodate me since I am working evenings this Wednesday and will not be able to make a practice on Wednesday.
In addition, I spoke to Jim from Team Sub Zero yesterday. They are now being sponsored by Area 51 as well. As we have a very good relationship with the guys of Sub Zero, I believe this is a good thing for both teams. For those of you who do not remember, Sub Zero were the team we bailed out a number of times at the GT last year when they had equipment issues. They will be competing in the GT again this year (in rookie) and Jim and I are looking forward to another great series.
Sub Zero will be holding try-outs on Sunday evening during our practice. Jim and I have discussed this and we feel that this is NOT a conflict but an opportunity for the both teams. I will run the practice as a series of drills and scrims. The guys from SZ will be observing those who are trying out and evaluate them for a place on their team. Because of this, I will be very strict and demanding. We will have a limited time so there will be no messing around. Please guys, make sure all of your gear is functioning and ready to go before you show up (and that you have all of your gear). In addition, all members will be expected to be suited up and ready to play at precisely 7:00pm. Jim and I do not want to delay while we wait around for someone to get air and paint etc.
One note....Since this a combined DA practice/ Sub Zero try-out, as a courtesy to Jim, I will not be evaluating any of the players trying out for Sub Zero as potential members for DA. We are not there to pick up new DAs but to practice and help out a fellow team with their recruiting efforts.
