Hey Guys,

I had planned to attend this practices with you....unfortunately I am sad to say that I will be unable to after all.

Some of you may have heard me talking about the original members of the DAs and specifically about Zach, the first person after myself to become a DA (he is still the admin for this forum). Well, earlier this evening Zach posted a message asking that I contact him as soon as possible and I, of course did so.

Unfortunately the news was not good. Zach's father passed away suddenly yesterday and since I had known his dad he thought I should know. The news was quite a blow and I am greatly saddened, especially for Zach.

When Zach first started comming out to play with the DA's it was often his dad that came along and encouraged him. He attended many of the tournements that we played and helped out the team (it was Zach's dad who first figured out how to assemble the old DA canopy). He was not only there for his son but for the whole team.

Zach....if you read this....I am very very sorry for you and your family. I know I can speak for the whole team...We are all saddened by your loss. Your father was good man and I know he will be missed.

Please, if you need anything...or you would like to meet just to talk, let me know and i would be happy to help you in any way I can. You are after all, still a member of this team and will allways be a member. I will be at the service for your dad on Wednesday....it's the least that I can do.

I am truly sorry for your loss Zach.

I was planning on coming to practice but i really hurt my back badly trampolining last night. I think Ill still try to make i down, but I dont know how well Il be able to play. Regardless, itll be nice to see everyone.

Thanks Chris for comming down tonight, it was very very nice to see you again. It was quite busy, so i wasn't able to speak as long as i would have liked with you - but I really appreciated you comming down. I will definately contact you in the near future.

My Dad was very happy with my involvement with this paintball team - and that is because all the members were great, supportive teammates and friends. Paintball was a significant part of my life, and will always be. I made some great friends playing paintball and learned a lot of important life skills while playing paintball.

I feel sad that, over the past year or so, I have let paintball slowly fade away. I always considered all my paintball friends close - but contact with them slowly faded. After experiencing the loss of my Dad, a huge part of my life seemed to have vanished. It was all my friends and family who helped realize that this part of my life didn't vanish - but is just changing.

I contacted both Chris and Phil (another former DA), who were my two closest friends that i met through paintball about my Dad's passing. I made a lot of friends with paintball, but most came and went - but Chris and Phil were both pretty much there from start (the end the Bad Mojo) to end. I will never forget all the help Chris gave me, putting me through painfull drills like "Handsmasher" and the infamous "Hell". He took me under his wing, and formed me into a proud paintball player. My dad was very appreciative of this.

Again, I just wanted to say thank you very much for the support. Even after a period of no contact, you were still here for me like you were during my paintball days. You are, and will always be, a great friend. Thanks Chris - i will talk to you in the near future!
